Intercultural Negotiation

In a globalized world it is not enough just to have background knowledge of a culture. You must be ready to negotiate with any culture at any given moment and have the necessary skills to identify and capitalize on cultural elements so that the negotiation is as positive as possible for mutual parties.
By human nature we are fearful of the unknown, but the intercultural negotiator is prepared to find common points on which to focus in order to minimize the cultural differences that create distance and mistrust between the parties.

Multicultural Management

Different cultures have different concepts of leadership. Values, behaviors, relationships with power and authority, control expectations and competition among colleagues, are some of the aspects that differ between cultures.  The multicultural manager must know how to manage them in order to generate a positive environment, promote teamwork and achieve the stated objectives.
A multicultural team provides new ways to resolve problems, innovative views and synergy, but needs a leader capable of generating the appropriate medium so that each culture feels free to open up and participate. Learning to manage this cultural diversity in a team is not intuitive.  It requires specific training skills to lead, communicate, monitor and delegate the different cultures in effective ways

Intercultural Comunication

Even in a meeting where all international participants speak English, the problems with intercultural communication are evident. 70% of the communication is nonverbal or paraverbal and each culture interprets content in different ways. Accuracy may be understood as rudeness. Some cultures place a high value on words, other cultures place more weight and importance on silence and all have rules of communication that vary according to sex, age and power.
The global manager must have the flexibility to use different forms of communication to ensure that their message is properly transmitted, the ability to extract ideas from context and knowledge to avoid negative situations created by cultural misunderstandings.

Subcultural Studies

All countries are shaped by diverse cultural groups which together form the basis of our understanding of the country’s culture although it’s only the understanding of its dominant subculture. Sometimes these groups are more culturally diverse than the cultural variations found between two different countries. To recognize, understand and manage these differences facilitates successful business negotiations.
The northern part of Germany does not have the same number of holidays that their Catholic counterparts celebrate in the southern part of the country; a multinational company would find that an Ecuadorian from the Sierra has consumption habits which are totally different than those from the coast; an oil company that comes to a country may need to interact with engineers educated in local cities as well as with Indians from mining areas.

Global Manager studies the cultural group of interest and guides your company in adapting the appropriate behaviors required.

Our Clients' Testimony:
"A expatriation process goes beyond the change of location or country. Being aware of the role played by the cultural dimension in our professional relationships is a factor of success and what better way to start an intercultural work than to have adequate expert advice on the subject and the tools that minimize the culture shock us "

"The idea of €living in another country brings to mind many thoughts about the implications this can bring to our lives: changes in routines, cost of living, transportation, located in the new city, among others. Although we know that is an important factor, perhaps the last thing you think about is the cultural issue because we believe that once installed we'll begin to understand cultural differences and their impact on our new life.

The Global Cultural Immersion by Global Manager, is an incredible opportunity to become conscious of cultural differences and the chances and challenges we face living in another country. This program will help you understand the culture of a place, making daily life easy and of course making working life better. The behavior of individuals and societies drag a historical context that we know little about, the program helped us to achieve interaction assertively, facilitating our day to day life, the relationships with people and increase the chances of success in our professional projects."
